Troy Jens

I have been a full time guide in North Alabama since 1995. Since that time, guiding and fishing has been my only source of income. I’ve been fishing since I was 3 years old, and I have been blessed to spend time fishing in many states for numerous species over the years. I cut my teeth on a fly rod, wading the streams of Montana and Colorado early in life. I’ve also enjoyed walleye, pike and musky fishing in my early teenage years. I’ve lived in both Tennessee and Alabama, and have fished many of the South Eastern states. I also enjoy hunting and other outdoor sports.

I’ve had the pleasure of fishing on the pro side of the Bass Master’s trail, and I have many friends on both the BASS and FLW side of the pro circuits. I have been honored to have appeared in nearly all major national publications of fishing and outdoor sports including Bass Master magazine, Bass Times, FLW Outdoors, Sports Afield, Outdoor Life, In Fisherman and numerous others. I continue to remain active in various conservation issues that affect our natural hunting and fishing resources and I enjoy writing about the concerns we all share as outdoor enthusiasts.

My real joy in life is working with special kids, which I have done for many years. My missionary work is right here in the outdoors if the United States, providing ministry to kids and their families as well as just being with them and having a great time in the outdoors. While many people like to travel to other countries for missionary work, I believe we have a responsibility to mission work here in the U.S., in our own communities and in our own back yard. Jesus Christ is my Lord, and through Him I’ve been blessed in so many ways.
